Guidance for your SautiLink account
Photos and videos in posts
- A post can contain up to 5 media items where the current composer supports the full media limit.
- Post images must be JPEG, PNG or WebP and no larger than 8 MB per image.
- Post videos must be MP4 and no larger than 100 MB per file.
- Post media may be rejected when decoded dimensions, metadata or file structure exceed SautiLink safety and processing limits. Current post-media validation supports dimensions up to 8,192 pixels per dimension.
- Media-only posts are allowed where the composer supports them, provided every attachment completes validation and upload.
Video duration and trimming
- An MP4 video that is 60 seconds or shorter can be accepted without trimming when it meets all other upload rules.
- A video longer than 60 seconds but no longer than 2 minutes can be offered to the trimming flow. The selected clip must be 60 seconds or shorter.
- A video longer than 2 minutes is not eligible for the current short-video trimming flow and must be changed before upload.
- The 100 MB size limit still applies after trimming. A trimmed clip that remains larger than 100 MB cannot be uploaded.
Important: “.mp4” in a filename does not guarantee acceptance. SautiLink also checks the file's actual MP4 structure, readable video track, dimensions and duration metadata.
Profile photo and header image
- Supported profile image formats are JPEG, PNG and WebP.
- Profile photos are limited to 5 MB.
- Profile header images are limited to 8 MB.
- SautiLink can reject an image that cannot be decoded safely or whose dimensions fall outside supported processing limits.
Room covers and Room post images
- A Room cover must be JPEG, PNG or WebP, no larger than 10 MB, and at least 600 × 200 pixels.
- Room posts currently support up to 5 images through the Room image composer.
- Each Room post image must be JPEG, PNG or WebP and no larger than 8 MB.
- Room owners and authorized Room staff remain responsible for Room-level media choices, while SautiLink-wide rules continue to apply.
Message attachments and voice notes
Message attachments are limited to 5 MB per file. Supported message uploads currently include JPEG, PNG and WebP photos, plus common document formats such as PDF, TXT, CSV, RTF, DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT and PPTX.
Voice notes are limited to 5 MB and 5 minutes. The exact audio container can depend on the recording support available in the browser or installed app.
Files sent in messages remain subject to SautiLink safety rules. A private conversation does not make an otherwise prohibited or unlawful upload acceptable.
How file validation works
SautiLink checks more than the filename. Depending on the upload, validation can include the declared media type, actual file bytes, file size, dimensions, duration, media tracks, document signature and whether the file can be decoded safely.
- A file renamed to a supported extension can still be rejected.
- A corrupt, incomplete or malformed file can be rejected.
- A file whose declared type does not match its contents can be rejected.
- An upload can fail if it changes between selection and transmission or if the connection ends before the file is complete.
Your rights and responsibilities
You are responsible for the files you upload. You must have the rights, permissions or lawful basis needed to upload and share them with the audience you select.
Do not upload malware, malicious documents, exploit files, illegal material, content that violates intellectual-property or privacy rights, or material prohibited by the Terms of Service. SautiLink may block, remove, restrict or preserve evidence of uploads where reasonably necessary for safety, security, moderation or legal compliance.
Making visual media accessible
Post media supports alternative text. When an image or visual detail is important to understanding the post, add concise, useful alt text so more people can understand the content. Current post-media alt text is limited to 1,000 characters per attachment.
Help with an unsuccessful upload
Check the file size, duration, supported format and connection first. If the file is within the displayed rules but still fails, try the original file again, export a fresh copy in a supported format, or contact SautiLink support with the error shown in the app.
Do not send passwords, one-time codes or private account credentials when requesting upload support.
Changes to upload limits
SautiLink may change upload sizes, formats, duration rules, attachment counts or processing requirements to improve reliability, safety, performance or product capabilities. We will update this page when a published upload rule materially changes.
Temporary technical limits may also be applied during incidents, abuse prevention or staged feature rollouts. The app may enforce those temporary limits before this page is updated.
